Who is Bold Marigold?

The daring, creative woman.

Marigolds are a contradictory flower. They symbolize passion & creativity, but they can also represent grief. Like a woman, a Bold Marigold can't and doesn't want to be categorized.

Why did you create Bold Marigold?

I've always been fascinated by the intricacies of women's daily lives but have found that many of these stories aren't being told. I want Bold Marigold to give women freedom to be who they wanted to become before society told them who they should be.

I turned into a Bold Marigold when I lost my mom unexpectedly about a year ago. The moment I received the call, I transformed into someone completely different. I found solace in reading about women just like me struggling through grief, but I also found comfort in viewing beautiful photos taken by talented women of things like vintage shoes & DIY decor. Though there are blogs on any & every subject, the ones many women, including myself, are drawn to fit into two categories: glossy or personal. Bold Marigold is designed to be both by displaying reality with an occasional lighthearted reprieve. This blog exists to unite women through their commonalities & remind us all that the world isn't always so ugly.

How do I get involved?

This blog isn't about me, it's about us. I encourage you to email me ideas, critiques, stories, thoughts, you name it. Did you buy something on Etsy that you absolutely love? Tell me! Did you lose your job or change your career path or decide to be a work-at-home mom? Tell me! You'll see some regular posts you can count on, but I will also be posting about whatever tickles my (and your!) fancy.
